Background Checks Result in False Items

Background check on employees is required in schools. However, results for one college has shown false criminal records for some.

If your son or daughter was in college, would you want him or her to be around instructors and deans and professors and all other school personnel who had negative items on their background checks? For sure you would be saying that you would rather not. This is the very reason why colleges are doing background checks on their employees. However, are these background checks really reliable?

In the case of an employee over at the Gadsden State Community College, it seems like a false item has been included in the results of his background check. This has been reported in the Alabama Education Association’s (AEA) newspaper, the Alabama School Journal. The employee had received a background check which contained a criminal history which is claimed to be false.

However, this employee is not alone. The officials of the AEA had declared that some other employees from the same college had received negative items. The school had gone through background checks on its 10,000 employees and the results are quite shocking for them.

So who were these people who had false items on their background check results? The spokesperson for the school, Kay Smith Foster, had stated that the names could not be disclosed for confidentiality purposes. The results were though fixed but the spokesperson would also not declare how they were able to do such. It would have been better if the school had gone through other background check services like the one available at http://www.identitypi.com/index.php to check the erroneous items that were included.

Such example is a really concrete case of how such background checks can prove to give out false results. Now that is posing to be a real problem for how could you check if the results for one person is real or not. If they would rather go to background check services which are reliable like the site mentioned earlier, it would rather be a different process and the results would certainly be accurate.
